JL Meyer (b. 1981) is a Mexican sculptor focused on the intuitive creation of geometric compositions through the assembly of identical elements. His work confronts industrial waste with organic matter to generate formal and symbolic tensions that address themes of production, consumption, and ecology, questioning the sustainability of contemporary society.
In 2009 he presented the interactive series esCOOLtura at the Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas. He has participated in group exhibitions nationally and internationally, and collaborated with material innovation initiatives such as Xoloplastics. In 2022, he was commissioned by Deloitte México to develop 130 sculptures as corporate awards. He is currently represented by Avant-Art Gallery in Houston.
His background in manufacturing informs an experimental approach to sculpture grounded in technological processes and the reuse of materials.
